Twelve releases later... For the last couple of years subnatura has been a small but shining icon of rare electronic music, a non-commercial alternative for both input and output of freeform electronic music in various forms. Since our first release Subnatural Soundscapes vol I we have dug through the mental crates of some of the most inspired and creative people of the contemporary, electronic musicscene.

So to wrap this baktun up and cross over from chrysalis to butterfly we return to our own point of origin. Natur012 Subnatural Soundscapes vol II sums this cycle up and approach you through the same method as it's predecessor vol I. A total of nine outstanding tracks from people like Moqawamah, Petrovski, Loot, Listenear and slem that reflects on time passed and things to come.

Through pure inspirational force and sheer love for music we have continued to be a whole greater than the sum of its parts. And while you download and listen to our latest release we look forward to provide you with more inspired releases from all the artist on this compilation in the months to come.
Extraboy - Firrar

Through Extraboy we recieve an indroductioncourse in aquatic-audio. Bubbling and dripping through the sequencer, sinewaves and noises makes their way to the surface of our ears. Syncronised ripples sets a sweeping, rhythmic background for this marine melody.

P.N.A.C. - Trial and horror

The multi-national crypto-production outfit P.N.A.C. will release and re-release some of their material on subnatura. With this track composed for Feed, P.N.A.C. invests a large ammount of time and effort to ensure you of the value of trying, no matter what the result might be. A musical all-you-can-eat-buffet with layer after layer of electronic dishes. "Something like a five course dinner minced up and fed intravenously..."

Moqawamah - WTF!

Moqawamah asks the simplest of questions but in a new way. Harnessing the raw power of electromagnetism and particleradiation the empress of electronics herself comes down on us in a thundering cloudstorm of grinding distortion, howling acidlines and dense pressurized pads. With all her usual intricate textures and quirks plus the added furiosity of the excellent overlapping beats Moqawamah reassure her position as the alpha-female of swedish electronica.

Petrovski - Bottomless emptiness

Petrovski steps up to confess with stacks of drummachines from the past-present-phuture, cabling, wires and some kind of controlsurface. Petrovski manage and syncronize the whole ensemble in to a smooth-operating machine-entity of rhythm. Serene melodies find their way through the body of the machine and spread itself through the nerves of it's system. You can hear the machine jolt as it comes alive.

July 1st, 1770. An object referd to as D/1770 L1 came in proximty of our own very planet, Earth. This "comet" passed only 0.0146 AU from Earth, the closest a comet had passed our planet in recorded history. People that were around back in the days stated that "The nucleus appeared as large as the planet Jupiter, surrounded with a coma of silver light..." and further that "It seemed to me to be increased in size, the shape rather more oval than circular, the nucleus no longer in the center, but advanced towards the northern part of the whole appearance." While this is all very intriguing information somehow they all failed to see the obvious facts. Extraboy kindly points theese out in his recollection of the events.

Listenear - Schnee von gestern

Listenear is back on subnatura. With their usual devotion to details and fluent dynamics Listenear continues to provoke thoughts through their music. The dominant basic structure of the track opens up to let the different rhythmic accentuations introduce the various melodic arrangements that fall in and out of the track. The snow from yesterday doesn't leave any tracks or traces as it flows in and out of existence, or does it?

Petrovski - For the homeless

It is a symptom really, a symptom of a society that is in a very bad state, really sick... Through Petrovskis wonderous track 'For the homless' we get some grip of the feeling that this state of reality or mind puts you in. Classic donkamatic-drumbeats, bouncing basslines and squeeking saws end up in a marvellous place alongside warm pads Petrovski style, beautiful!

We are pleased to integrate reSet Sakrecoer into the subnatura hive. reSet is not only a unique talent when it comes to producing music, he is also a potent singer, a digital-wizard and a superb live act. Since luck is on our side so is reSet and we look forward to extend our parnership and serve you some of his excellent music in the time to come. Here is 'My bike' a track that caught my attention the second i first heard it. A true story about a boy, his bike and their ups and downs together. This is reSet on subnatura.

Loot - Nippon 2007 [B]

Live electronic music is not what it used to be. But sometimes it is exactly what it used to be. When we put Loot together for a recording session for the follow up to their previous 'Nippon Soundtrack', sparks, hailblizzards and boltlightning didn't waist no time before they appeared! We are more than proud to be able to give you this track as a teaser for the upcoming releases of Nippon Soundtrack 1 + 2 from Loot. Meanwhile enjoy this dark masterpiece simply entitled 'Nippon 2007 [B]'
